Sometimes the English of American missionaries with a lot of time is funnier than the Spanish of new Americans. In Spanish to say ¨to knock¨ you say ¨tocar¨ which also means ¨to touch¨. The other day and elder told me that they were out ¨touching doors¨ and I cracked up. He told me not to make fun of his Spanish, but I was dying. I´m not sure why it struck me as so funny.... Maybe it´s only funny to me.... Ha Ha Ha?
It´s been a good week, we had interviews with President Egbert and I got my spiritual boost for the next 3 months. We had very few lessons, but we did manage to work with the members more which made us happy. Gloria is progressing a lot! She´s come to our lessons with lots of questions which is great because it means she´s starting to really trust us. She actually invited us to her home to meet her mom which was a huge step. Her family is ¨very Catholic¨ and her Mother is a little confused and sad that her daughter is looking for something else. We talked about the importance of asking for guidance from our Heavenly Father and gave her a Book of Mormon. Gloria still isn't sure what she is going to do but continues to work diligently towards her baptism date.
This week I´ve had a lot of chances to think about how important it is to use our agency to make good choices. It is such a great gift! It´s how we show our faith and our willingness to follow God. We can´t make it to the Celestial Kingdom without making that choice!
Make good choices!
I love you all!
Love,
Hermana DeFranco
