Life is hard. GOOD. Life should be hard, because if it´s not, we´re never going to learn anything. It was a physicaly and emotionally exhausting week. A lot of looking for people to teach and very little finding. But despite all that, we have been able to see the hand of the Lord working in beautiful ways in our lives and our ward. I really have come to love this ward even if ward council turned into a fight this week.... I am very happy to be working here with my companion who is fantastic. Saturday was a very hard day. I was totally exhausted and all of our appoinments fell through (a shocker). As we gathered our strength to continue working I thought upon all the dificult moments of the mission and how the Lord had always come through for us, thanks to our diligence. Sure enough, Sunday evening He gave us the miracle I desperetly needed to see. All of our appointments had fallen through (sound familiar) so we sat and prayed, asking for guidance. I felt the need to contact a few more people, which we did. We were firmly rejected. We were then guided to a door and knocked. The family welcomed us in with a warmth usually reserved for people who think were are Catholic. They knew exactly who we were however and were more than excited to hear the message, all 6 of them. It´s a beautiful family with 4 boys. ages 8-20. We thourghly enjoyed our lesson with them, laughing a lot and feeling a beautiful spirit. The Dad know A LOT about the Bible and normally that means they are pretty stuck in their belifs and want to convince us that we are WRONG. But he is different, he is humble and hungry to learn. I feel so blessed to be a missionary! I can honestly say that I´d rather be here than in any other place doing any other thing.
I love you all!
It´s the small and simple things that make all the difference!
Love,
Hermana DeFranco
