Buenas Tardes!!!! Hola de Mixquiahuala!
What a great week 😊 Every week is a great week. Even the most exhausting disappointing week is a good week!
We had a quite a few adventures. Anyone who knows me knows I'm pretty good at hurting myself. I shocked myself, got spined by a cactus, hit my head on a combi door frame, tripped and fell, scratched my leg on something.... all on the same day. But the work goes on, boldly nobly, and independent! 😄
This week we started teaching an AMAZING family! The husband is a member and we are teaching the wife and her 2 kids (12 & 15). They just got married in September so everything is pretty to Sonia! She went to 3 sessions of General Conference (including the Priesthood session....). Last night was the first time we met her children and we taught them all the Plan of Salvation. She said she could tell that President Monson is a special man, that there was a light about him. She felt or saw the same light when we taught the Plan of Salvation.
I live for those kinds of moments. When we can stand by and obverse someone feeling and recognizing the Holy Ghost for the first time. I love it. I feel so happy.
The teenage boy who had been pretty upset that his mom was changing from what she had taught them all their lives loved the lesson. He is remarkably intelligent and understood everything almost before we explained it! The fall of Adam, and why is was necessary is often a difficult concept for people to grasp since it goes against all tradition here, but he got it right away and explained it to US. I love teaching. Two of my favorite things in life: Learning and teaching. And like Ben Carson, I owe it to my Mom.
Speaking of conference..... I LOVE IT. Every 6 months is better and better. I understand so much better now. I feel like I can´t miss a single word. I want everyone in the whole world to be able to hear and understand! I loved the talks on personal responibility. And yes, I did enjoy the talks in Spanish. We were watching conference in English the clerk´s office in the chapel but at the 1st Spanish talk we ran into the main room to be able to listen. All the members were super happy!
I love you all!
Learn from and follow the living prophets!!!
Love,
