New area, new ward, new companion! For the first time in my mission, I´m actually in Pachuca! Our area covers about 3 colonias here in Pachuca. The ward´s a little smaller which I hope will make getting to know the members a little easier. The ward building is two stories! That´s pretty exciting for me. The city welcomed me in the good old Pachuca way, with a week of wind and freezing cold. On Friday we enjoyed burning sun quickly followed by lightning and pea-sized hail (which HURTS). It´s really not that cold in comparasion to all of you hanging out in Utah, etc, but please remember that we´re outside on foot 8-10 hours a day and none of the houses here have heat. It´s pretty warm today though :)
We´ve met all kind of interesting people this week. One woman told us that she was pretty sure that God is a woman becuause ¨all that perfection couldn´t come from a man.¨ She was pretty suprised when we told her that God has a body... and is our Heavenly Father. I am very grateful for the restored gospel! Another man told us that there is no devil and evil does not exist (*cough* 2 Nephi 28:22-26 *cough*). Most people just tell us that anyold religion works as long a you are a reasonably good person. Sigh.
It´s been fun here in Constitición, my companion is Hna Guzman. She´s from Mexico City and has already finished medical school, so she´s pretty legit. She just finished her training so she´s still learning. It´s kind of weird to be teaching someone who is almost 4 years older than me and much more expierenced than I. Oh well, I´m glad God can use me to do something good. She is a really hard worker, I really admire her drive and her abilities. We had a few disappointments this week with people letting us down but I´ve learned that on the mission you have to be a hopeless optimist. Even if 1000 people lie to you and reject you, you still have the hope that the next person will say yes! I love the mission! I´m learning so much! I´m so glad for second chances and constant progression!
By the way, I´ve finally been freed from being sister training leader! Now we can really work! I will miss leadership council though... :(
I love you!!!!!!!!!
Love,
