Something I get tired of hearing day after day is ¨cada quien su crecía.¨ Everyone their belief. It´s absolutly true, we should respect the beliefs of everyone and everyone is in their own journey of faith and understanding. We all arrive at a knowledge of God in our own time and our own way, but it´s the same God. It makes no sense at all to say that it doesn´t matter what relgion we atest to, that they all will take us to eternal life if we are good. If that is the case, why did Christ teach baptism? And if all the baptisms are the same, why are there so many? Someone has to be wrong. How do you expect to keep the 10 commandments, one of which is keeping the Sabbath day holy, without a church? The more I study the Bible the more I understand the need for the true church of Christ and the need for the Priesthood authority of God. Sorry, I could go on, but I´ll just let you all think this part out for a while. Progreso is progresing! This week we were overjoyed to see quite a few less-actives that we have been vistiting come to church! It´s an essential part of the work of salvation, reminding people of their covenants and helping them get back on track. It´s almost impossible to do alone. Seek out the less actives in your ward! Help them! Most of them just need a friend.
We have had a great week. We have a great investigator, Lalo I´ll call him, that had a heart of chicken. That sounds a lot better in Spanish... Basically he is made out of marshmallows. He is incredibly humble and hungry and thirsty to learn more. Yesterday he fasted for the first time and turned in his fast offering. We were fasting with him so that his wife would soften her heart and listen to us, or at least agree to get married (after 20+ years together, you wouldn´t think that would be a problem...)
My favorite part of missionary work, seeing people recieve the blessings I´ve recieved through obediance.
Les amo!
